Bettina read law at Warwick University and was admitted as a solicitor in 1987. She trained with Hart Brown, became a partner in 1989 and joint managing partner in 2000. She was voted in as sole managing partner in 2006 for a further 5 year term.  Bettina is based at our Resolution House office in Guildford.

As Managing Partner of Hart Brown, Bettina has ensured key goals are achieved in all areas of the business, especially the company commercial arena – a growing sector and one in which Hart Brown is both well established and well regarded.  As head of the firm’s commercial business department she has developed strong working relationships with a national plc and an international leisure group among her broad range of clients. In addition, she also specialises in commercial litigation, including contractual, employment and building disputes.

A strong leader she has been key in continuing to steer the firm in a positive direction. Her leadership skills have led to a recent appointment as Women’s Enterprise Ambassador by the South East England Development Agency (SEEDA).  She joins a network of 100 individuals across the South East who have been recruited to act as role-models for women promoting the benefits of being in business.  The South East network forms part of a nationwide initiative featuring more than 1,000 women entrepreneurs.

No stranger to the media, Bettina has regularly contributed to the Surrey Advertiser and has also appeared on the BBC and local radio as a "legal eagle" responding to listeners' questions.

Born in Germany, she is a fluent German speaker, a keen sportswoman and an active member of the Wimbledon sports and badminton club.
